'It's not the listing that comes first, but our customers who come first'
Niek Hoek: 'Things can be and must be done more simply'
Niek Hoek, chairman of Delta Lloyd Group made his New Year’s speech on Monday January 18. In a special evening for relations of Delta Lloyd Group in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam he stated that in the insurance market of tomorrow, everything centres on simplicity, trust and accessibility.” Financial products have become too complicated. Things can, and must, be done more simply. So in 2010 we intend to invest heavily in making our products better, clearer and customer-friendlier”.
Hoek said that the initial public offering was undoubtedly the stand-out event for Delta Lloyd Group in 2009, but added it’s not the listing that comes first, but the customers who come first. “If our customers are satisfied, our share price will inevitably rise too”. Delta Lloyd Group has the ambition to be the Netherlands’ most customer-friendly insurer in 2010. “We are already working hard to accomplish this with a well-thought-out set of new transparent products that we are offering at low and competitive prices.”
Quality and integrity form the core of Delta Lloyd Group’s success in 2009, and will continue to do so in the years ahead. Delta Lloyd is sailing its own course. Going against the tide, we devoted a lot of attention to risk management and the quality and integrity of the balance sheet. "Always ahead of the game". That is our ambition, also for our relationship with customers.
Finally, Niek Hoek presented the first copy of Q to Pieter Broertjes, chairman of World Press Photo. In this photo book the Volvo Ocean Race is portrayed from the diverse perspectives of three young and talented local photographers. The three photographers are all former participants of the Joop Swart Masterclass of World Press Photo.
