iZio in publicity stunt with ‘insurance drive-in’
Almost half of Dutch people setting off on a short break have no travel insurance and are not fully aware of their cover. This was revealed in a survey conducted by Infomart Gfk, on behalf of iZio.

Holiday makers were able to take out travel insurance at the last minute by pulling up at the drive-in on one of the busiest Saturdays in the holiday calendar.

Young people in particular do not take out cover for short breaks
The iZio travel survey researched the travel and insurance behaviour of the Dutch. The survey revealed that one in four Dutch people do not take out travel insurance before holidaying abroad. At the same time, of the group that is insured, 44% has no idea of their excess. No less than 48% of those questioned in the iZio survey do not take out cover for a short break abroad. Young people in particular do not take out cover for short breaks (56%). Those taking longer holidays are more cautious, with 83% ensuring that they have proper travel cover.
The Dutch look for cover, price and convenience
Niels Keuker, director of iZio: "The survey revealed that the Dutch primarily look at cover, price and convenience when choosing a policy. What the survey also revealed is that purchasing travel insurance online is incredibly popular, with no less than 42% of young people under 30 years of age taking out travel cover online.
