It is crucial to the quality of our services and business operations that we are involved in social developments and maintain a dialogue with our important stakeholders. Social engagement and, in this context, corporate social responsibility (sustainable business practice), are concepts that have become an increasingly integral part of business operations in recent years. We are aware of our position and are committed to working towards a sustainable society. We do this by striking a good balance in our own business operations and products and services between financial considerations on the one hand and social, ethical and environmental considerations on the other. Delta Lloyd Group publishes an annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) report in which it accounts for the impact of its activities. In addition, the growing demand for transparency and openness are important developments in which Delta Lloyd is taking the initiative.

For Delta Lloyd Group, corporate social responsibility (CSR) represents the ambition to promote the development of our employees and society (people), a healthy environment (planet) and profitable economic growth (profit). Based on the Group’s core activities, this means working on a secure future for and with all its stakeholders.

Public Affairs

Delta Lloyd Group pursues an active public affairs policy that focuses on its political and social contacts. In doing so, the Group implements its strategic role, and also responds to opportunities and threats resulting from political and social changes, political decisions and the evolution of public opinion.

Donation policy

Delta Lloyd Group has been pursuing a donation policy for many years, but this policy has been tightened since 1 January 2008. We are concentrating primarily on supporting initiatives that contribute to promoting financial self-reliance and financial awareness among vulnerable groups in society. By focusing specifically on this area, we hope to have a strong, positive influence on financial awareness in the Netherlands.

Delta Lloyd Group Foundation

By setting up the Delta Lloyd Group Foundation on 1 January 2008, Delta Lloyd Group has demonstrated its commitment to encouraging social solutions in the field of financial self-reliance in the Netherlands. The projects and initiatives supported or set up by the Foundation offer knowledge and opportunities focused on preventing financial problems. The Foundation provides education, information, advice and assistance in the form of resources and voluntary work performed by Delta Lloyd staff. The Foundation has a budget of € 2 million in 2008.
