Privacy statement

When arranging insurance, a mortgage or other financial service, we need you to provide us with personal details. Delta Lloyd Group and its subsidiaries (hereinafter 'Delta Lloyd') respect the personal privacy of their customers. We therefore treat your personal information with great care. Delta Lloyd processes your details in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the Code of Conduct for the Processing of Personal Data by Financial Institutions. This Code of Conduct specifically elaborates the rules of the Data Protection Act for banks and insurers. We naturally comply with this code of conduct in all our activities. Delta Lloyd has reported the processing of your personal details to its Data Protection Officer, as described in section 62 of the Data Protection Act. In his capacity as Data Protection Officer, Tom Bakker ensures that the processing of your personal data takes place in accordance with the applicable laws and code of conduct.

Use of personal data

We process your personal details in order to initiate and implement insurance agreements and/or financial services and to implement statutory regulations. The processed personal details can differ, depending on the type of insurance and/or financial service. We also process your personal data to prevent and fight fraud and to carry out activities (marketing etc.) aimed at increasing our customer base, performing statistical analyses and informing you of other products and services that we deliver. We naturally only process data that are required for that purpose. In other words, we ensure that every type of data processing, whether related to the implementation of an agreement or the prevention of fraud, exclusively involves the processing of those personal data that are accurate, sufficient, relevant and not excessive. In addition, as noted, all data processing is carried out in accordance with the law and the code of conduct and takes place in a proper and careful manner. Processing of specific personal data

Certain personal data need to be processed with extra care. Examples are data about your health and about a possible criminal record. In the case of personal insurance (e.g. life insurance and health insurance), we need to process data about your health. This takes place under the responsibility of our medical adviser (physician). Data about your health are exclusively provided to other persons within the company who belong to the medical adviser's functional unit and who need the data in the course of their professional duties. The employees of this functional unit always work under the direct responsibility of the medical adviser. They are under the same duty of confidentiality as the medical adviser. If we also need information from a physician, we will always ask your permission first. In this case, we must give you the reasons why we need this information and what specific data we want to know. In addition, as part of a risk assessment, we may ask questions as to whether you have a criminal record. You are not obliged to mention criminal offences dating back more than eight years.

Inspection and correction

If you already have a relationship with our company, you can request us to provide you with a statement indicating the data about yourself which are processed automatically by us or entered into a database. We may charge a fee for supplying this information. If the statement that we have provided contains any inaccuracies you can send us a written request by post or email to correct or modify the data. Right to object

Personal data are also used by Delta Lloyd to provide you with targeted information about insurance products and financial services that may be relevant for you. If you no longer wish to receive information about our products and services from your insurance intermediary, please communicate this directly to your intermediary.

All persons who are able to access the data are obliged to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to these data. Delta Lloyd uses cookies with this site.
